PEI Separation School is an access to justice initiative meant to create an affordable separation solution for families that cannot afford a personal service such as litigation or mediation.

The goal of this session is to complete your separation agreement. Then you can choose to either (i) get independent lawyers to review it for you, or (ii) sign it. This session includes a separation agreement precedent and information on how to edit it to meet your family's needs. Randy B.F. Campbell will provide information and education so that you understand how couples typically untangle their parenting roles and financial lives. He will also explain the relevant law, and the purpose of our laws. You will also have time to ask for information specific to your situation, and to work with your ex to identify the best path forward for your family.

To participate in Separation School, you and your ex need to be able to speak to each other calmly and respectfully. You are welcome to participate in Separation School without your ex, but it is much more effective if you both attend. Note: This is an education session. Randy B.F. Campbell can explain the law generally and as it relates to people in your situation, but he cannot provide you with individual legal advice, or tell you specifically how to proceed. Those choices are your own; as are the consequences.

PEI Separation School participants are also eligible for a reduced rate mediation package if you require some additional support after the workshop is complete.
